How to be a Good Friend

The other day I was talking to my mom after school, and she showed me this poem. She didn't tell me who wrote it, all she said was it was from a student down at the Elem. School that she works with. This poem is simply wonderful, and extremely true. I thought i should share it with all you fellow bloggers!

How to be a Good Friend
To be a good friend
You can't push
Let the other person talk to you.
Always listen
And never interrupt.
Don't tell secrets
Even if they're juicy.
Be the one to help someone up
Laugh and joke when it's appropriate.
Who cares if the popular girl
Comes up to you
And asks if you want to make plans.
If you made plans with your BF
Keep them.
Be caring and gentle,
Never hold a grudge,
Be a friend that you would want.
Always compliment
Never put down
Share a snack with
A New Kid
Hang out with people
Different.
It can't hurt.
If you've done it right
You feel lighter,
Happier,
A better Friend.

  1. Kenzie, I totally agree that the poem is very true! I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for posting it. I find that sometimes people forget about the true meaning of a friend. A friendship is something that everyone should experience in their life. You seem like a great friend and posting that showed it is important to you, so great job:)
