Please Stop Laughing at Me - Chantal Bonbon

Author: Jodee Blanco
Pages: 276
Rating: 10

While reading this book, it made me realize that so many young kids go through their teen years being afraid to be themselves. I was one of them. As I got toward the end of the book, I realized I can be myself 24/7. Bullies do exist, but you can’t pay attention to them. They’re the ones that need some kind of help or needs to boost there self-esteem. But remember you can’t be a bully back, try to be nice and offer friendship. It may or may not work; the important thing is that you tried. I loved this book and I know you will!

  2. Wow! Great post - you made me want to read this book. As teachers, we talk a lot about bullying, but sadly it still exists. Figuring out ways to help kids who are being bullied feel empowered would be a powerful solution for the Jodee Blanco's in our school!

  5. Good review. It sounds like a book that people in life can relate to and how people shouldn't be a shamed and just tell someone that something that you don't like is happening.

  8. Chanty, as you know I have read this book before, and the impact is incredible. You hear about bullying, and you know it is a horrible thing. But people have no idea about how far bullying can go. If I am correct, this book is based of Jodee's real high school life. I was literally reading the book, and I couldn't believe some of the things she went through. People threw rocks at her, THREW ROCKS!! How do you think someone feels??? And she didn't even do anything wrong. It is just so unfair, it makes me sick. I am glad that you are not afraid to stand up about bullying. And lastly Chanty, never be afraid to be yourself, because you are such a great person!
