Life as we knew it was an amazing story about a young girl and her family trying to survive what seems like the end of the world. Miranda, her brothers Johnny and Matt and mother all heard the warnings of a meteor that was to soon be hitting the moon, but never expected it to be a dramatic change in their environment. Life for them in their small town becomes very hard as they experience tsunamis, earthquakes and ash begins to cover the sun when a lunar impact knocks the moon closer in orbit. Soon enough, supermarkets have no food, the gas prices go up to almost 10 dollars a gallon, making it almost impossible for them to go anywhere. Schools around the world are all closed and many families begin to starve and become weak. As the story goes on things begin to be at the worst until something horrible happens and the families lives are changed forever.
Life as we knew it was by far one of the best books I have read. Once you start reading this book, you may not want to put it down. It’s a nonstop book of adventure and suspense. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes to learn about the environment and what changes may come in the future.
great job Bre! I have heard about this book and was debating whether to read it or not; I think I will now. This reminds of the movie " I am Legend". Science based books always catch my attention! Thank you for sharing this book!

ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE this book! It was so captivating, couldnt put it down! A very interesting way for an author to portray a huge uniersal diaster. I think Mr. Parsons should deffinetley read this to see how much really wouold happen and what wouldnt. You should also check out the next one: The Dead and Gone. Same time, just a boy living in New York. Great Job! :)

ReplyDeleteAs Leyla said, the Dead and the Gone is a great companion and there is a third in the series, The World We Live IN.. I met this author at a conference and the story of how she got the idea is great! Glad you enjoyed it so much!
