The book Dovey Coe is about a girl and she has a sister and a brother, Caroline and Amos. Dovey's sister Caroline is going to a teachers college but this boy named Parnell proposes to her so she will stay in Indian Creek. After Caroline leaves to go to a teachers college Parnell tells Dovey that they need to have a talk. When Parnell and Dovey finally get a chance to talk Parnell has one of Amos's dogs and tell Dovey he is going to teach her a lesson. Soon after that Dovey is found in a room with Parnells dead body, a knief, and a canister.
I really liked the ending of the book because it tells what happens before Dovey is found in the room with Parnells dead body. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fiction books because its really interesting. I rated this book a 9 because all of the parts of the book where interesting, the only part of the book that I didnt really like is when Dovey is at court to prove that she didnt kill Parnell.
