Hunter Secord- Tucket's Gold

Tucket’s Gold
Gary Paulson
Pages Read-120=Finished
Rating- 9. Great Book

This book made me realize you have to work to get what you want. This book has proven a lot of things to me. I have realized if I want something I have to go for it, it will not just fall out of the sky. If I do things myself, I will get it. This book is about two guys and a girl who are out in the wilderness living off their skills and resources. Every day and night, they have to hunt for their own food and make their own shelters. They discovered a skeleton and that leads them to finding gold. There were lots of helpful things found in just one day. The horses they found the day after lead to some suspicion about people that may be around. This book was very fun to read and always kept me interested. Tuckerman’s Gold taught me I need to work for what I want.

While reading this book, questions were brought to my head. For example, what if this book was non-fiction and all the activities in the book really happened? It would be an amazing book to read if it was really happening. This was one of the best books I have ever read. I suggest this book if you like the outdoors.

  3. You did an excellent job with moral of the book("you have to work to get what you want")
Gary Paulsen book seem to have a deep message about them even though they pertain to nature, animals, exploring, etc....

  4. Wow Hunter! It sounds like this book was very meaningful to you. Many adults never figure out that "you have to work to get what you want." It would be great to find a nonfiction book where something like this really happened - you should ask Mrs. Culkin if she knows of any real life books like this.
