First of all, I want to say this was a very good book! Right from the beginning I was asking myself questions, wondering what was going to happen next, and therefore I could not put the book down. Not only was it entertaining to read, but it had a few key lessons hidden ‘between the lines’ of the actual literature. The author creatively touched upon sensitive teenage topics such as a first kiss, confusing boyfriends, and trying to fit in with the ‘In Crowd.’ A classic teen- summer- love- book and a great read! :)
Jaci, I have also read this, and it is a good choice! If you have the chance you should pick up the next book, The Off Season. It's just as good as the first one. :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you wrote this post. To me what really sticks out in this topic is the fitting in, i see this going on in everyday life and i think it is a big thing to do.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention that, Melissa, because I accually am halfway through the second book, The Off Season, and so far it is really good as well! I cannot wait to get to the third one! :)
ReplyDeleteI have also read this book! i finished it in two days. I simply loved it. Is there really a third book?? What is the title?
ReplyDeleteYes, Kenzii, the third one is "Front and Center" and we have it!!! Come get it!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mrs. Culkin, I was trying to figure out the title! :)
ReplyDeleteI have seen so many people reading this book so after reading your blog I think I will have to read it. Your post was short, sweet and to the point which I loved. You gave all of the important information without giving away then ending. Is she really a football player? I think that is really great because everyone always thinks of football as a mans sport (I think us women would dominate the game thought!). Like Hunter highlighted out of your post, fitting in is a HUGE part of growing up. This book seems great. Well done, Jaci!
ReplyDeleteI was debating not to long ago if i should read this book and everyone was telling me to because of the title being dairy queen. I was wondering if it had anything to do about ice cream or is it just because she lives on a farm? This book seems like it would be good for a teen who may be struggling through life and needs help. Like everyone else who has commented i deffinetly see people trying to fit in, relationships starting to begin with everyone in every day life. And like madison said about her playing football, i think it's brave of her to be able to want to play that sport. It's not just for boys but that is how people interpret this sport because guys are i quess stronger than some girls. I liked your post though and was wondering if you recommend this book? Thanks again.
