Jeremy Marsh is a scientific journalist who takes a trip to Boone Creek, North Carolina. He had heard of ghostly apparitions at a cemetary and decided it would make a thrilling story. He planned on staying only a few nights to research town history and figure out what these "ghosts" really are. During Jeremy's stay he meets nice, jealous, skeptical and weird people. His favorite new "friend" is Lexie Darnell. He falls hoplessly head over heels for her but does she feel the same way? They live completely different lives and Lexie's life is and will always be in Boone Creek with her friends and family. In such a small town even a scientific journalist from New York is considored a celebrity so of course the mayor makes sure everything is top of the line for his guest. Does the mayor treat Jeremy this way because he is really considored a celebrity or because he knows something Jeremy does not?
Nicholas Sparks writes another phenomenal book. I would reccommend this book to anyone who loves Nicholas Sparks writing syle and for someone that wishes to try something relaxing and new. Nicholas Sparks captures the realization of love stories with his own twist whih makes the book worth reading. You have to truly enjoy and understand his writing style in order to capture the essence of this book...I truly enjoyed this book.
Alexandra, as soon as I noticed who the author is, I was interested in this book. Nicholas Sparks is incredible! He always has the theme of love in his books and he does a wonderful job with it. From your review, the book sounds mysterious, and that is an element that I have never encountered in a "Nicholas book". Is this an actual theme in the book, or did you add in the mystery element just for writing the review? Either way, I am glad you enjoyed the book, it sounds awesome. I will definitely be giving it a try!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Megan. I adore Nicholas Sparks! I've read most of his books and True Believer sounds like a good one too. The book sounds mysterious and I might take a look at it. Does the story focus on the more unnatural activity?
ReplyDeletegood job, this sounds like a really good book to read.

Great job Alexandra. I have read this book as well and thought it was great. There is also a sequel to it called "At First Sight". It is a must read.
ReplyDeleteWell, about the whole mystery element. It is not a mystery and yes Megan I have to admit that I wanted my blog to sound interesting so I added a tad more of a suspense. However, it is not a boring love story. Of course I perfer other Nicholas Sparks books compared to this one but it was a great book.Kenzii, I think the setttings are usually placed in north Carolina because that is where he lives with his wife and family. Kirsten, I did not know there was a sequel and i plan to read it now, thank you.
